Jason’s big adventure, part 1

Looks like the first leg of my brother’s sailing expedition to explore the sunny coasts of Mexico didn’t go too smooth – here’s hoping he’s found all of the issues with his boat and the rest of his trip goes according to plan.

Ever since I came home from Japan there’s been this spider thats been hanging out right by the door to my condo. Waiting. Watching. I swear every time I see it, its a little bit bigger…

Now, I have a confession – if there is anything that has a high chance of making me scream like a little girl, its spiders. No, not little dinky spiders, not cute daddy long legs – I’m talking big, evil looking spiders.
As it is, we are at a standoff. I wait, hoping he will go away, for he is already way to big for me to be comfortable with direct action. He waits, biding his time I’m sure till he’s just a little big bigger so he can accomplish whatever nefarious plot he’s been weaving.

Its been over a year, but I’m working on Cerebral Imprint again.
My first goal – make it so it doesn’t look like, well, ass (pardon my french). When I first started working on Cerebral Imprint I was a fresh switcher from a windows world and the only user interface work I had done in a while was swing based. Now that I’ve been a Mac convert for quite some time I find the user interface to be somewhat of an embarrassment. So, what do you think about this layout?
Prototype Cerebral Imprint
Its going to be a little bit before I have a new test version ready but stay tuned. My goal is to actually stabilize the code base, release a 2.0 release, then actually start to add new features again.

Within days of my last post I was back to MythTV, partly because it works better and partly since I can watch recordings over my network on my Mac.
Time to come clean: I succumbed and re-activated my WOW account. <big sigh> . A lot of things have changed since I quit and I actually having fun again. Its sad, but given how I get sucked into these games I actually set up parental controls on myself to control when I can play : )

I think I have a problem. Its name is threadless.com and apparenly I can’t stop buying tshirts from them every couple of months. I have to admit there are a couple of shirts that I probably wouldn’t have bought if there wasn’t $10 sale enthusiasm clouding my judgement but in general I’m very satisfied with the interesting designs I’ve picked up.
