Cerebral Imprint

Download latest version (release 2.5.0, June 23, 2009)

Cerebral Imprint is a free, open source flash card application for OS X version 10.5 and higher. It has the following features:

  • Supports flash card, multiple choice, and fill-in-the-blank style reviews of whatever you want to remember (as long as it’s text).
  • Keeps track of how well cards are known and supports a simple version of the Lietner Method to review your card decks.
  • Import card decks from text files using custom separators.
  • Export cards decks to either a CSV file or a simple one-side-per-line text file.

I wrote this program for my own use way back in 2004. Every now and then I put in some major work on it when I find it doesn’t do what I want it to or I just get the urge to do some Cocoa programming.

I have both made the application and its source code available for free.  I still use this application and think you may find it well worth the cost (hehe) however it’s not the most advanced flash card application out there. If you need something a bit more featureful than Cerebral Imprint you may want to look at stepping up to a shareware program like iFlash or Mental Case.

Feel free to send feedback and make requests however I am not actively supporting this application so there is a chance that you may not get a reply.
