I finally got around to making the site look decent. I went ahead and found a theme that looked pretty good as a base, hacked around with it until I got it to look how I wanted, then added multiple sidebar support the way I like it. In the process of checking out WordPress 2.6 compatible themes I stumbled across an interesting super minimalistic theme that was used as the base in a design contest. If I ever get the urge to do a design from almost scratch it looks like it would be an excellent starting point.

So, what do ya think? Look good?

Ok, alexrose.net is up and ready for business again. I updated to the latest version of wordpress, tweaked a simple theme to get a clean look, and imported my old content. I’m not 100% happy with how things look but I’m going to make a concerted effort to keep working at it, especially since I have a lot of plans for this summer all lined up.

Speaking of summer – its time for SIFF again already. Do you have your tickets yet? I do – going to see some Johnny To, a little Takashi Miike , and a really old (young?) Jackie Chan amongst others.
